    New reports by the Flumen – Mentalities in Flux research group in 2023

    Transfer Report: Discussions of Possible, Probable, and Preferable Futures of Forests and Forestry in (Central) Finland

    Jana Holz is a researcher and PhD candidate in the BMBF junior research group “Mentalities in flux” (flumen) at the Institute of Sociology at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The Central Finnish municipality of Äänekoski has been the focus area of her qualitative case study on forestry and forest management in Central Finland in the past three years. In May 2023, Jana Holz traveled to Finland with the aim to present preliminary results of her research and to discuss these with local actors, various stakeholders, and scientists from different disciplines.

    Transer Report: Dachas for Future – The Importance of Allotment Gardeners in Sillamaë for a Fossil-Free Future 

    Lilian Pungas is a researcher and PhD candidate in the BMBF junior research group “Mentalities in flux” (flumen) at the Institute of Sociology at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. She approaches  dachas as a practice of an agro-ecological circular economy and as a space in which the harsh effects of socio-economic crises can be cushioned.
